Fill critical data gaps in your operations and strategy

Your EHR and other databases are incomplete – the information you are missing could be costing you money, limiting your growth, and hampering your patient care. Veritas supplies critical datasets to fill your data gaps and unlock financial and clinical improvements.

Track physicians as they move between facilities and systems to promote effective outreach

Compare the capabilities and reach of your facilities versus competing practices in your catchment areas

Track providers as they move across systems for strategic planning and M&A targeting

Measure physician and nurse retention and hiring patterns to better compete for staff

Benchmark the staff experience and qualifications at your facilities versus those of your competitors to identify advantages you can promote in messaging

Measure mortality rates by physician, facility, and health system to benchmark your patients’ outcomes

Increase accuracy of population health and risk models with complete mortality data to identify patient groups in need, gain insight into causes of death, and to inform impactful intervention programs

Build disease-specific patient journeys and support data-driven decision making by developing mortality risk indicators and monitoring for specific diseases

Analyze provider behavior and patient outcomes by specialty, education, and professional background, to uncover treatment patterns and influences

Include accurate and comprehensive patient mortality data in your advanced analytics and AI models

Investigate historic provider contextual information to better interpret current behavior and decision making, and improve predictions of future patterns

Group providers by facility or system to understand network size and influence on clinical and financial outcomes

Improve reporting accuracy by eliminating deceased patients from quality and value-based care measures

Improve mandated reporting of deceased patients to registries, agencies, and other parties

What people say

Trials happen for, let's say, 12 to 18 months on average. There are endpoints that will happen way longer after the trial is completed. If you're able to connect mortality data on long term survival to your clinical trial data for that particular patient population and be able to follow those individuals beyond those 18 months, let's say for the next 5 or 10 years, you can really get a full picture of what happened in that study and what happened to that patient population, positive or negative.

Veritas data going back to 1900 gives us many more matches not available to us through our California Department of Public Health (CDPH) data feeds. In addition, UCLA has patients that come from all over the U.S. for our specialists’ care. Those that die outside CA would not be included in CDPH data. Veritas, being a national database, allows us to pick up deaths that would not be available to us with CDPH data.

Merit Medicine leverages extensive datasets, including Veritas' unique Fact of Death Mortality Index, to enhance predictive analytics and fine tune our advanced analytical tools. The use of Veritas' Mortality Index enriches our models by allowing researchers to identify deceased patients, in order to accurately predict disease burden and total cost of care.
