Veritas Data Research, Inc. (“Veritas,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects and processes Personal Information when you visit and interact with our websites (the “Sites”), our customer-facing Portal, APIs, and other services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what Personal Information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices and rights available to you. 

Certain Services or customer agreements may include additional privacy or data protection terms. Where such terms apply (for example, under a Data Processing Agreement), they will govern to the extent they conflict with this Privacy Policy. 

Veritas’ role – controller vs. processor 

Veritas acts in different roles depending on the context: 

  • For website visitors, Portal users, business contacts, and marketing interactions, Veritas acts as a data controller. 
  • Where customers provide data for matching, cohort evaluation, delivery, or related processing, Veritas acts as a data processor/service provider and processes data only in accordance with the customer agreement and applicable Data Processing Agreement (DPA). 

Personal Information Veritas Collects and Why We Collect it 

“Personal Information” means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an individual. We collect the following categories of Personal Information when you access or use the Services: 

  • Direct Identifiers – Such as name, email address, business contact details, employer or organization, and IP address. 
    • We collect this information to: 
      • create and administer accounts 
      • communicate with you 
      • respond to inquiries and support requests 
  • Internet & Usage Information – Includes browsing activity, device data, log data, cookies, and usage analytics. For Portal users and APIs, this may include login and authentication events, IP address, session timestamps, audit log entries and API request metadata. 
    • We use this information to: 
      • operate and secure the Services 
      • detect and investigate suspicious or unauthorized activity 
      • support compliance, auditing, and service reliability 
  • Commercial & Transactional Information – Includes products or services licensed or accessed, transaction records, billing or account administration interactions.

      • fulfill agreements
      • provide support 
      • maintain lawful business records  
  • Location Information – Derived from IP address or device settings and used to understand where Services are accessed, support security monitoring, comply with regional legal obligations 
  • Profile & Preference Information – Such as communication preferences, product or content interests.

      • tailor communications and user experience 

We may also create de-identified or aggregate information in accordance with applicable law. Where information is de-identified, it is no longer Personal Information and may be used for lawful business purposes. 

How Veritas Uses Personal Information 

In addition to the specific purposes outlined above, Veritas uses Personal information in order to provide you services and for internal business purposes which include:

How Veritas Shares Personal Information 

We may share Personal information:

Veritas does not sell Personal Information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. 

Veritas maintains a list of subprocessors and can make it available to customers upon request or required under contract.

The following third-party service providers are engaged by Veritas to process the data of our website users and customers on our behalf:

Veritas may update this list of subprocessors from time to time and shall notify its customers of material changes in accordance with the relevant customer agreement. 

Cookies and Similar Technology 

Veritas uses cookies, pixel tags, log files, analytics tools and similar technologies to operate and improve our services.  

Non-essential cookies are used only with your consent, which may be managed through our cookie banner or settings tool. You may withdraw consent at any time.
